At Langley Meadows we are continually trying different ways for our students to show their learning. Often students have been asked to share their learning through word processing, power point and kidspiration. As our staff becomes more familiar and comfortable with the capabilities of our COWs and iPads students have been asked to show their learning in more varied ways.
A few of our classes have been experimenting with Book Creator on the iPad. Many of our classes who have used the app have created ebooks from their stories. A kindergarten class, with the help of their grade 5 buddies, created memory books. The children photographed their favourite things about kindergarten and the older students help to type their words into the books. Some of our older classes created superhero stories, while others published journal entries. Teachers are working on the best way to publish these stories for parents to access.
As we continue to learn and experiment with incorporating technology into our classrooms we are excited by the possibilities for students to document and display their learning in a flexible and creative way.
