The Digital Citizenship competency states students understand human, cultural, and societal issues related to technology and practice legal and ethical behaviour. These issues cannot solely be framed for the virtual world (as only the older people separate these worlds!) Finding starting points is the key!
Sandra Averill has been teaching in the Langley school district for 20 years. During the last 6 years she has been sharing digital issues and strategies to students, staff, parents & the RCMP. Her training in this area comes from her work with students, research, conferences and raising her own two children.
