Socrative is a smart student response system that empowers teachers to engage their classrooms through a series of educational exercises and games via smartphones, laptops, and tablets. Enables teachers to quickly gain insight into whether students are grasping the concepts being taught/discussed in class or if they need to readdress certain areas perhaps from a different perspective. A wonderful self-reflection tool for teachers! http://www.socrative.com Reference Collection FormsTeacher Librarians and Secondary teachers are very welcome to edit the Reference Collection Form used at WGSS Library. Use the form to encourage students to easily keep track of their references and be digitally responsible for the sources that they use. Teachers may choose to have students simply hand this form in with their assignment of to use it for input data for an online citation maker to create a Works Cited or Reference page. Tip: Print back to back with print resources one one side and digital resources on the other. Developing Responsible F2F & Virtual Citizens Keynote: Sandra Averill The Digital Citizenship competency states students understand human, cultural, and societal issues related to technology and practice legal and ethical behaviour. These issues cannot solely be framed for the virtual world (as only the older people separate these worlds!) Finding starting points is the key! |
